Former Spanish club Barcelona forward Rivaldo says the 2020-21 season is that the last for Lionel Messi in Barcelona.
Rivaldo has claimed that Barcelona's new administration cannot persuade Messi to remain at the club which he will leave the camp at the top of the 2020-21 campaign.
Messi agreed to go away from the club last summer but was forced to remain after the club's then-board refused to permit him to maneuver for free of charge.
However, Rivaldo said Messi's mood could change if he wins the most domestic or European championships this season.
"In my opinion, Messi can reconsider his decision as long as he wins the Champions League/La Liga season or if coach Ronald Koeman plays good football for the team. "Unfortunately, I'm afraid this might be his last season with the club," said Rivaldo.
‘Of course, Messi has received good offers from other clubs and was already trying to go away from the club. "I don't know how our board will persuade him to return thereto decision," he said.
